This rich
media ad unit, known as the "webmercial", aired as
a mock tv ad in the middle of online games on iwon.com (such
as You Don't Know Jack). This unit was not clickable as to not
interrupt the game experience, but the user was presented with
two clickable gif banners on the
first screen after the game's end. These ads performed with
an industry-average-crushing click through rate of 12.5% and
were partially responsible for emptying an entire warehouse
full of modems.
